Niblr speaks MCP — the open standard AI tools use to connect to outside systems. What is MCP, and why does it matter for your store?

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is an open standard — think of it as a universal adapter between AI tools and the systems they work with. It's the same kind of plumbing behind AI assistants that can read your calendar or search your files.

Niblr exposes your store over MCP, so any MCP-compatible AI tool can connect to it directly. There's no plugin to install and no custom integration to build: you paste a URL and a key, and your store shows up as a set of tools your AI already knows how to use.

What can you do by chatting with your store?

Once connected, you manage your store the way you'd ask a capable assistant. On any plan, you can read your store:

• "What did I sell this week?" — it reads your orders.
• "Which products are low on stock?" — it checks your catalog.
• "What page blocks can I use?" — it lists your building blocks.

On Premium, it can also make changes:

• "Add a product called Linen Tote, $18, 20 in stock" — it creates it.
• "Draft an About page with a hero, our story, and an FAQ" — it composes the page from your blocks.

Here's the difference worth noticing: most platforms that support MCP today point it at the storefront, so shopping agents can browse a catalog. Niblr points it at the back office — so you can actually run the shop by chatting.

Is it safe to let AI make changes?

Yes — the guardrails are built into how it works, not bolted on afterward:

• Your AI only ever sees your store. Access is scoped to the store the key belongs to; it can never read another merchant's data.
• Nothing publishes on its own. When your AI drafts or edits a page, it's saved as a draft. You review it in the admin and hit Publish when you're happy.
• No deletes, no order changes. The tools are read-and-create by design — your AI can't remove products or alter customer orders.
• Revoke access instantly. Every connection uses an API key you can disable or delete from your admin at any time.

Which plans include it?

Reading your store works on every hosted plan — the "talk to my store" experience is included from the start, so you can try it the day you start a store. Creating and editing — products, categories, and pages — is a Premium feature. And if you self-host Niblr, you get everything: it's open source, with no plan gates.
